Giveaway Software Test

From October 22nd, 2014 through October 28th, 2014 I offered up a free “Swag Bag” to a random winner chosen from those who helped test some software I’m considering using for the giveaways on Oregun Shooters. In this case, 28 of the people who entered didn’t confirm their entries through the email link they were sent. 4 of those 28 also earned additional entries by sharing their custom giveaway links with others. While we appreciate that, in order for your entries to be considered, you have to verify the initial entry. It appears that Hotmail filtered out the confirmation emails so the 6 people who used Hotmail accounts to enter never had a chance. :(

Even with the Hotmail situation, this is by far the best software I’ve found so far to easily integrate giveaways with OregunShooters.com. I’m look at a couple of other options but there aren’t many left. If I decide to stick with this software, those of you using Hotmail may want to consider an alternate email platform for your entries. We have absolutely no control over what Hotmail is doing.

Logan Cheshier was randomly selected as the winner. A a bonus, I’m going to double up the prize pack and hook Chris Grover up as well since he’s the person who referred Logan. The very foundation of Oregun Shooters is based on sharing information so I really value the sharing feature of the software and am glad to see that most people used it successfully.
I’d like to thank everybody who participated in this giveaway, especially those who shared their links with others. On a scale of 1-5 I consider this software to have scored a 4. I’ll know within a week if Oregun Shooters will move forward with this or try something else. I can’t wait to get the sponsored giveaways going!
